Agentic payments require more than execution
Identity, authority and accountability need to evolve with them.
Dr Bo Bai, Chairman of MetaComp, opened the session with a keynote on the infrastructure and governance needed as AI agents begin to participate in financial transactions. Jerry Zhou, Chief Architect & Head of AI Innovation at LianLian, followed with perspectives on the technology and implementation behind agentic finance.
Key highlights
Moderated by Will Liao of Money in Motion and Mizha, Deputy Chief Commercial Officer of MetaComp, the roundtable focused on a practical question: when an agent executes a transaction, who authorises, who pays and who is accountable?
The discussion brought together Terrence Wu of Standard Chartered, David Tay of Yeahka, and Coco He of Sunrate, examining which challenges require a collective industry response and what can be tested and built together before agentic payments scale.
Three areas emerged as needing to evolve as agents enter financial transactions: who an agent is acting for, what it is authorised to do, and how its actions are monitored and governed.
These considerations inform MetaComp’s StableX Know Your Agent (KYA) Framework, the identity and governance foundation of the StableX Agentic Network.
This is where MetaComp is focused: connecting agentic systems with regulated payment infrastructure, and building the trust and governance needed for them to operate across real financial environments.
